What Mortgage Lender Do You Use?

Next month I will be able to get pre-approved for my first mortgage. I'm looking at small multi-family properties. What lender(s) would you suggest if using a FHA loan or conventional loan?

I feel that there is a HUGE difference between a "Loan Officer" and an "Application Taker"! Unfortunately most banks and lenders are not willing to pay a true professional that understand investments, or even how to read a tax return. It is crucial to you to find a good loan officer if you plan to use financing along your investment journey. Dont depend on someone that only knows how to type info into an app and hope it spits out an approval. You want to find a loan officer that finds the "Yes" even when it is hidden behind a "No."

@Joseph Romano I’ve been having luck with my small local bank. I guess they’re not that small, they have maybe 20 local branches in upstate New Hampshire and Vermont. But not like Wells Fargo or Bank of America.

They also keep their mortgages in house so if you need help after closing they do not sell them off and you can call and get one of their representatives to help you.

You might look for a smaller bank and offer to move some money there if you can, or a local credit union and join it. They tend to be pro-active towards community development and local housing and making improvements to buildings that will help improve neighborhoods.
