Hi

i am considering to buy a 2k Sqft house in porter TX to rent out. How is the area? Almost all of the area are around 2k rental.

Also, does not look like the area is prone to flooding.

Why not buy around where you are?  Plenty of opportunity.  I don't think you need to go to Houston to find deals.  It just complicates things and adds risk.   Now if you tell me you own 100 rentals in DFW and want to diversify and build a portfolio in another market, ok.  Just think if you have to drive to meet tenants, do make ready, meet HVAC repair...that's a 5 hour drive each way.
