Getting the license makes sense to me. I've been looking online for a good portion of the morning. $289 is the most economic I could find, while others wanted 500+...

What program did you use and did you like it?

Can't agree more with @James  Syed, and I say it all the time.  Do you want to learn how to pass the test, or learn some actual real world working information?  In a classroom you can ask questions, and make some contacts.

I hold a managing broker license. You will have to pay more for classroom education, but exposure of classmates and networking is priceless. I had to pay $575 for classroom education.

I have a broker's license.  Plusses and minuses for investing purposes, which are debated many places on BP.

Future oriented recommendation: After you get your license and get to the point of needing continuing education credits each year, I recommend doing an online Bing/Google search for online real estate broker continuing education credit courses, and you'll find a bunch.  Then go to each of them and scan their course listings.  Most share the same basics, but every once in a while a provider will have a course that counts toward your license renewal yet is very helpful to you as an investor as well.  I personally keep a list of courses that I haven't taken yet but may take in the future, to make the search process a bit quicker for the next license renewal round.

I used Rockwell Institute online training.   Definitely worth it to get the Prelicense package with the "Broker Cram" in the end.   Do the practice exams until you run out of turns - it will prepare you for the questions on the Washington license exam.  I just checked at the Prelicense Package runs at $489.00, but it is better to spend a bit more upfront instead of having to take the state exam more than once.

I've been an agent for 2+ years and passed the state exam the first time.

Working on re activation of my license (was RE Agent for 8 yrs) I'm using 360 training.com It was 199.00 when I joined and it's accredited with State of Washington.  I'm slogging through it. If you do this please remember that if you become a licensee you will be restricted in your investment efforts as you must identify yourself as a Broker (Law of Agency). That puts some people off, particularly a distressed homeowner.
