Question about WV code regarding septic + garbage disposer

Ilya Z.

Hello Everyone,
As far as I know, in Maryland, if you have a house with a septic, you are not allowed to have a garbage disposer in the kitchen. Is there a similar rule in West Virginia? Or does it depend on the size of the house/septic or any other factors?
TIA!

@Ilya Z. I live in WV and have never heard anything about restrictions on garbage disposals. The Health department will probably have the answer. It may also be determined by each county. This is my local health department's website http://www.kchdwv.org/contact-us/
