To all my fellow Wisconsin landlords (or future landlords like myself):
I don't remember how I came across this article, but apparently the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection creates the guidelines for the Landlord-Tenant relationship. I figured this guide might be helpful for other landlords in Wisconsin. It does a good job of explaining how to handle application fees, security deposits, nonstandard rental provisions, the eviction process (5 day vs 14 day notice) and a lot more. Enjoy!
Thanks Andrew, I'm not a landlord yet but am looking to be in the next year or so- great info!
Thanks a lot! It's always good to be informed!
Thanks for posting Andrew!
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection also puts out The Wisconsin Way - A Guide to Landlords and Tenants. That is the more detailed version of the link Andrew provided, but is also a great link for any Wisconsin landlords to know about and bookmark for future use if needed.
Actual clickable link... I hope! Still learning the BP Forums.
