How do I split a property into a few different properties

Hey guys,

So, this is really outside my wheelhouse. I was asked by a family member who has to sell her parent's home on 5 acres. The property has multiple buildings, a house, a barn and a garage. She wants to separate the barn from the house and garage. So, where do I start getting informed how to go about this?

Property is in small town Henry County, IL.
