How can I subdivide land?

Hello BP,

How can I find out if a property can be subdivided?  I've looked through the township's zoning maps and building code but wasn't able to find anything.  I'm going to call the township's offices, but before I do, it would be great to understand what the process has been like for others and what I should expect.

Thanks for any advice!

A title co. isn't going to handle the actual subdivision of a parcel in an urban area.  You need to start with your zoning and building dept., they will tell if it's possible, and how to start if it is.
