What Type of Investing Strategy is This?

Hey! I’m just very curious about this posting I saw this morning. Here’s what it says:

“THIS HOME IS CURRENTLY LOSTED FOR SALE. If you like this home, we will purchase it and rent it to you.”

Mind you, the home is listed by a professional realtor, but I’m just confused on what type of strategy this is, if anyone has done anything like this before, and if it is a profitable strategy? My mindset is always “someone knows something that I don’t.” So if anyone knows what type of strategy this is, I’d love to hear from you!

PS: I’m 2 months into REI so I’m still figuring things out!

@Brandon McCadney sounds like a scam. Poor spelling even realtors don't spell that bad.lol. I bet the realtor has his listing hijacked and you will have to put down first, last, and a security deposit before they will buy the house. Tenants out there lose their deposits and the scammers take the cash.

May be a scam like Tim says.

Or could be legit.  It's St Louis, so could be listed for $50k, but they will buy with cash for a qualified multi-year lease renter at $900/mo.  I'd do that. Get my cash back in a few years.  What price is the listing and what would the house rent for?  You are in a major cashflow city as you know. Looked into it myself.
