Legalizing unpermitted addition to the house
I have recently purchased a house in San Jose. This house has a bonus room added without permit by the previous owner. This was apparently done 17 years ago. Is there any risk in legalizing this un-permitted addition? Anybody has some experience in doing similar things. I am worried if the city will ask to remove the additional room, any suggestions on this matter will be highly appreciated.
