Starting and lost

Hello guys I am 19 years old currently in college and I've always wanted to do real estate investing I look at it as a business and not like as a side hustle. Ive been kind of lost on where to start since I am in college and my father doesn't recommend me getting a part time job to save money since he wants me to focus on my education first and foremost. Another problem I'm having is finding a mentor, I live in DC and when I look at any real estate meetups it's all in Maryland or Virginia and it's far away from me so that's another problem I am having. My question is how do I find mentors that can teach me more about real estate? , and what are some recommendations you guys have for someone starting out as a beginner in real estate investing?

thank you.

Be on the lookout for @Russell Brazil's posts here. He is super sharp and in the DC area.
