It isn't at all clear what you are asking, but I'll try to answer what may be your question.

A handful of people are successful at real estate investing. A very large number of people are putting forth the effort to learn how to be successful at real estate investing. And an even larger group of people are wannabe investors that aren't willing to put forth the effort to learn and carry through. I'm not trying to guess which area you fit into, I don't particularly care. If this last comment puts you off, forget about being a real estate investor, your skin isn't tough enough.

Now, successful people on BP want others to be successful and that is why they are taking their valuable time to help people out, but they aren't stupid either. Their time, experience and expertise are worth something. I have seen the same questions posted by innumerable people called "newbies" who apparently haven't taken the time to do a Search in the cute little "Search Window" above for answers to the most basic of questions. But, they aren't willing to hire one of the many consultants, mentors and teachers (I don't do any of those by the way) available both on BP and outside of BP. These people are "time wasters". And why should people who know what they are doing fall to the level of the "time wasters" Why don't the "time wasters" simply get serious? Yes, HGTV plays a role. When you can Fix & Flip a house in 30 minutes and make good money, why not do that? But, that isn't how it works and those houses are "staged", it's a *show*, a set up, play time, make believe, not reality.

@Michael N.- As a fellow newbie, I think one trait that will get others to take you seriously (even if you've got no experience) is perseverance. I could be wrong, but I believe that if I just stick to what I can do and continue putting in my effort to connect with others with offers to help them (for free), help those even newer than I am to this website, be open to opportunities that come my way without expectations of their size, then I will eventually  succeed.

I think that the one determining factor in me that makes me sure I will succeed in the end is my drive to keep at this until I have achieved success, and I plan to never give up as long as I am alive. I just know I won't be able to live with myself if I dropped this, so I keep chugging along.
