What in the world is up BiggerPockets world!! I've been a member for a short time but have been a reader/podcast kind of guy and holy crapola am I addicted to this game called "real estate". Who knows if it's even real... anyways I'm from the Chicago land area and I'm a chef/restauranteur in the great city of Chicago. I've been reading and researching non stop about multiunits. I'm particularly interested in a 3-4 flat to maximize my FHA loan. My plan is the house hack it. live in one of the units and rent out the others. I'm looking for buy and holds. The BRRRR strategy is what I'm probably going to base my empire off of. I would love to invite some pros to have lunch or coffee with me (my treat unless you're rich then we can split the bill...haha jk) somewhere in the Bucktown area. Im just looking to basically learn the ropes. Basically more hands on approach. I'm planning on buying my first multi unit sometime early next year or later this year. Also I'm super eager to get my hands and feet wet and plunge into the real estate world! I have talked to some contractors, agents and loan officers but my hunger for knowledge is yearning for more! Thanks for taking the time to read this long and goofy post.

I agree with John. Connect with Brie and Charlie. I worked with one of Brie's agents to buy my first multi family house hack last year. I did a FHA 203k. I'm living in one unit with renters in the top unit. I'm getting ready to refinance to conventional and renovate the basement unit. Happy to connect to share my experience.
