New to Real Estate Investing
Hi BiggerPockets Forum,
My name is Nick and I'm new to the real estate investing game. I currently reside in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago but am originally from the southwest side.
So far I've been listening to podcasts and reading books on books about REI. Have been able to absorb a lot but was looking to pick some experienced investors' brains about our local market or for help finding a local meetup in the near future. All responses are much appreciated!

@Nick Mangan welcome to the forums! Sounds like you are off to a great start. Definitely check out some of the meetups under the networking tab. There are also quite a few that post on meetup.com just fyi.
You should also check out the Straight Up Chicago Investing Podcast that @Mark Ainley hosts with Tom Shallcross. This has been one of the most amazing things to happen here in the Chicago market since I have been in the business and it gets into a lot of the more granular details of investing here in Chicago that you can't find on a more general platform like BP.
