DALLAS - Termite Damage Wall Reframing

Cameron King
Posted

Hello!

I have a house with some pretty extensive termite/water damage on the wooden framing of two exterior walls. The outside siding is brick.

It looks like the entire frame needs to be ripped out and replaced but because these are two large sections of exterior load bearing walls and the brick blocks access from the outside I think it will have to be replaced from the inside if that's possible.

Does anyone have experience with termite/water damage like this that could help point me in a good direction? Would I just need to find a local carpenter to make the repair? Or does a repair like this require a different specialization?

If it does require a carpenter and then I'm looking for recommendations in the Dallas, TX area.

Thank you!

We had termites similar to what you describe. We were replacing the siding & windows and saw the damage to the framing. One of the floor support board upstairs had to be fed into the house from outside and sistered in. The rest of the framing was done either inside or outside for most of the length of the house. We had a carpenter do the work.
