Faux Stone Exterior Trim Pros & Cons

Good Morning,

Does anybody have any do's or dont's when replacing a home's exterior trim with faux stone? How well does it hold up to cold, ease of installation, common issues with contractors, etc. Planning to replace a majority of one of my properties' exterior with faux stone rather than paint it. The home is in the mountains and gets a good amount of snow, squirrels, woodpeckers, among other things lol.
