Mold

Has anyone here ever done mold remediation. I am thinking of purchasing a property from the bank. There is a lot of mold problems with the home, however the bank is willing to pay for the repair. Is there a tricky process on handling this type of situation, and how long does it take to take care of the problem. I will probrobly hire a mold remediation specialist that does the fogging method, because I heard that is what is best to fully kill and stop the problem. Does anyone also know what type of damage mold can do? Can it cause any structual damage? Any help will be helpful. Thanks.

If a professional can treat the mold so that a buyer will feel safe after the work has been completed then the mold is obviously not a show stopper.

The risk is the costs might be hard to determine before the work is started. Get quotes.

As the thread shows mold is something people fear even when they do not understand the facts. That will impact the buyers who will consider the property.

Any work done by a professional is really not much better than their ability to back up their guarantee. Check to see what the guarantee offers and if you are free from liability if there is a future issue.
