Gas hook up for Dryer in Bathroom

Hello BP community

A buddy of mine has a property that has a laundry room in the bathroom

While strange this is not uncommon

What is the code for running a gas line to the dryer instead of having a 240 outlet?

Adding an electrical line to the dryer would tap out my panel, so that’s why he’s thinking of running gas instead

I thought about the following when he asked me:

1. Poor ventilation - code violation for gas line

2. Would need a CO/smoke detector in bathroom

Anyone have experience or code knowledge they could share?

Thank you
