Should I return my paint sprayer?

Question

I bought it from Home Depot 3 weeks ago and it worked fine up until yesterday, I pumped and sprayed maybe 10 gallons of paint through it. Now the suction tube doesn't suck prime tube doesn't drain anything. I've troubleshot everything recommended by the manual and still nothing. The manufacturer recommends taking it into to get serviced as it's under warranty, but I really don't want to deal with that hassle and would much prefer to just take back to Home Depot. Do you think Home Depot would give my money back?

Definitely take the time to return it so you can use the refund money to get something that works. Hope that helps!

The float is probably stuck or the primer switch is broke. Usually if you tap it with a hammer it gets unstuck. Remember after a very good cleaning you should chase the water out of the gun with mineral spirits or the ball barring in the gun packing will rust and get stuck.

Thanks for all the advice! @Rob, it's actually a Graco Magnum ProX7, all the reviews I read online were positive and I will say it worked great! ...up until the point stopped working, doh!

I on the other hand had a horrible time getting a replacement from Home Depot.  It was a shower insert, and one stores shipment was completely warped.  The lady told me to take it to another store and they'd replace it.  Well, they didn't because the lady at the first store kept my receipt.  And instead of making it easy on me.  I had to go back and forth a bunch of times to get it done.  Keep your receipt.  It makes it very very very simple.

I have a friend who returns stuff to HD that he didn't even buy there. They take back anything. Just curious, what kind of sprayer is this? I used to have the Wagner with the yellow paint hopper that had the same problems you're describing. It ended up being a tiny gasket and happened many times nail I finally sold it and bought a Graco that had zero problems.

Home Depot will definitely take it back especially if you have the original box and receipt and/or credit card you bought it with.  They are generally great about returns.

We did a huge project where we needed a lot of sprayers and ended up going through about 4 of them at Home Depot before we bought a nice one.  They took them back every time.

Quit wasting your time and go return it!
