How to find good general contractors

Roger Garner
Posted

Hi everyone,

I am a new member trying to remodel/rehab a house. What is the best way to find good general contractors (reasonably priced, delivers on time, committed to quality) ?

What are red flags ?

Quote from @Bruce Woodruff:
Up front (First Contact) Red Flags -
1) Everything should be in writing and very detailed
2) There should be a very specific Scope Of Work
3) They should not ask for much upfront $$, certainly no more than 10% - if even that. The best will often ask for nothing until they set foot on the jobsite and really start with site set-up and demo.

Yes all of this above for sure.. Added to the items I put which is more detailed and arcuate!
