What color should I go with?

Question

OK BP family...

I have a great house in a great neighborhood that I am looking to Rehab but I need some help.  I am not a fan of the Schoolhouse Red Brick color but since the roof which is in great shape has White shingles I need to know what color to paint this Brick to make it have better CURB APPEAL?!?!?!  The roof is 1/3 of your properties color so give me some ideas to tie in the rest.

I paint quite a bit of brick. But here is one of the best color schemes that our sellers like. It is a 4 color paint system. Base-Trim-Accent-Door. If you like it let me know and I will send over the skus to you.

Gray may not look bad...but it may look strange if the roof is lighter than the exterior paint...

@JPaul Mills I am going to go against the grain here. I wouldn't paint the brick. Its not a "dated" looking brick or at least how I see it in the photo and its a huge risk as far as I am concerned in the fact that many buyers don't like painted brick.What I would do is change the window shutter colors, the door and the little bit of siding that you have. I would go a more darker olive/khaki/neutral color for the siding and shutters(kind of what @Andrew Cordle posted) , whatever compliments the red. Then for the front door I would update it to a beautiful wood door with a med/dark stain and either get rid of the screen door or make it a dark color. Then for landscaping, choose some more dark green bushes or bright green, like boxwoods or something of that nature. Whatever works best in your region. Hope this helps!

@JPaul Mills I know the white roof is bothering you, but your in luck because black, gray and white color schemes are all the rage for interior design:) All the big design bloggers and interior designers are choosing white walls, white furniture and so on.So honestly I wouldn't over think it too much. Once you add all of those rich neutral colors they will balance out the white roof. Does the roof have a little bit of gray mixed in? If so, I would go with a gray based color for the siding to tie it all in.Trust me after being a designer all these years, colors affect other colors. So do what you can to choose the right colors to compliment the roof and brick and then make your landscaping look amazing. People will focus more on those things than the roof. As you know at the end of the day its all about the details. So WOW buyers with those minor changes with the curb appeal and WOW them even more with the interior. And if you do those two things, I don't think the roof will be much of an issue.I look forward to the after photos:)

Yes, we installed a new dark charcoal nearly black roof on this house which coordinated well with the gray, black shutters and black entry door.

I am also a little stumped...:(
