Newbie, need help

Hello all,
I am very interested in Real Estate Investing/Flipping. I don't know
much about Real Estate, but I do have a desire to invest in properties. My father just bought a $175,000 townhome and is renting it out to sell in about 6 months and land a nice profit. I don't want to rent out properties, I am really interested in buying, flipping, and selling. What should I do first, second, third, get the point ?
