how to clean very dirty grout

anybody have an recommendations on how to clean very old and neglected tile/dirty grout without tons of scrubbing?  Thanks

First of all you can forget about DIY grout cleaners. On very dirty grout they dont work and lets not fool ourselves into thinking we are all chemists. Do yourself a favor and get a professional grout cleaner. Here are some good ones:

Also, you need a good scrub brush to really clean out dirty grout. Hope this helps.

Grout is tough to clean.

Use a grout sealer after every new grout job or cleaning job! Really easy to apply. It can be brushed on or sprayed on. Good to do that between tenants.

I agree with Mike go to Home depot they have acid cleaner for grout to clean it also where your Ppe so you can protect your self all the way around you can also use the grout renew as well but once you get it clean and the color to original look seal it so it can stay refresh for a long time

Fill a spray bottle with a half-and-half solution of vinegar and warm water. Spray on the grout, let it stand for five minutes, then scrub with a stiff brush. To bring even more cleaning power to the party, make a paste of baking soda and water, cover the grout lines with the paste, then spray on the vinegar solution. Otherwise you can consult cleaning professionals  like sun rise cleaning services ( http://www.sunrise-cleaning.com /).I have got mine done last year by this same company. Acid wash.  And surprisingly, that little steam cleaner attachment wand on a stem cleaner rental at Home Depot.  I didn't think it would work, but was surprised.
