What to look for?

When looking at a home to lease what are some things to look for so you can know what you are getting into? I looked at a home which had a front and back door but no doors on the inside. No bathroom door?

How do I know how cold or hot or might be? How much it might leak?

The company is vision property. The people I talked to said alot of houses are gutted and are fixer uppers.

@Jason Daman- it sounds like you might benefit from finding a reputable real estate agent to help you vet places and landlords.  That said, the town/city/county/state where potential properties are located should be able to provide you some insight as to what are some basic criteria that landlords must provide... check with them too.

Things like being hot or cold is largely subjective, so that's a tough one to address... but down that track, it might be wise to gather information about the historical utility expenses.

As to how much it might leak... it shouldn't.  Period.

At a rudimentary level, trust your gut Jason as to what's appropriate for you.

I would suggest using a real estate agent who can help you find a property to lease. I would ask the owner when he/she plans on install interior doors it could be that they are still getting the property rent ready.

unless the LL is finishing up some renovations I would be very leary about renting a place that did not have any interior doors, and much less worried about the hvac situation.
