Hi All,

I am working on a duplex that needs 20+ windows. have shopped the big box stores but wanted to check and see if any of u have recommendation of any better places out there. Something basic that does the work done.

Thanks,

Paul

Things to keep in mind: Do these existing windows meet egress for your locality.  Some inspectors may require that you change window sizes to meet egress.  Some localities don't care or ask. You may get new windows installed and have an inspector make you change them. Some localities will require you to meet a certain R value. Some localities will require that glass that isn't above a certain height above the floor will have to be tempered (also true for windows in a bathroom). Find these things out before you order. I would look first at a window supplier.  They have regular customers that buy their products and would give you some good leads on installers. Stay away from stores with salesmen and large storefronts unless you want to pay their overhead.  I use vinyl windows in most of my rentals and rehabs.  I have used several brands and don't see much difference in one brand from the next.
