general estimates for kitchens and baths (NC)

just a sanity check... what are people seeing for ballpark costs of kitchen and bath full gut and remodels? Picture a house in the 1000-1300 sq ft class with stone counters, tile floor, stainless appliances for the kitchen and then stone counter, tile floor, tile tub surround for the bath. Yes I realize there are lots of variables just talking wide angle view here. I'm in NC if you prefer to apply a regional bias to the number. Thanks!

@Daniel Murphy Of course there are very large variables when determining these costs, but I would use about 12,000 for an average sized kitchen.  If you are getting fancier cabinets, I would say at least $20k.  Bath are probably about 6,000, and a master bath would be more like 7-8k.
