Listing a rental without Realtor

So we just purchased a 2 family home and we're trying to get it rented. Does a realtor have more access to potential renters using the "MLS" than if I rented on my own using sites like zillow or trulia? My fear is that I'm losing potential renters that don't want to or can't afford a realtor fee.
