short sale, needs rehab

I'm a newbie here.  Have a short sale in my sights and looking to estimate labor costs for the rehab.  Will order materials myself and pay only for labor.  Is that common practice?  How much does labor usually cost? We're talking about a full kitchen and bath rehab, flooring and paint.  Anybody in the Lehigh Valley, PA area willing to give me quote?  Perhaps a referral? Home is ~1700 sq ft.
