Help! What color should I paint this house?

Question

I'm at a complete loss what color to paint this house. Whatever it is will need to match the brownish-orangish roof, plus the brick columns. I'm planning to repaint the house, trim, front door, and garage door as soon as I can figure out a good option.

I went out and snapped a pic of my personal house just now.   I repainted the exterior a few months ago.  While I didn't get super creative and stuck with nearly the same colors I picked from the builder to start with, I went a bit lighter and warmer on the main color, a bit warmer on the trim, and then went from a straight blueish black to an earthy brown-black on the door. (Builder's options were basically pick color pallet A, B, C, D, or E)  My roof is  more gray than yours and I don't have the reddish brick, so those may make my colors look too green.  But for reference sake, I believe they are all Sherwin Williams colors, I can snap pictures of the actual paint codes if anyone is interested.

The main gray/green color is "Zeus"

The columns and trim are "Crisp Linen"

And the door, which isn't super visible here, is called "Fired Earth" and has just enough brown/tan to the black to go with the rest. Also used the color to repaint faded garage door hardware and the address numbers.

Together they are all very pleasing to the eye in all lighting conditions.

Personally I would go with a darker grey/tan color. Leaning towards grey with some tan/brown in it. I would add some trimwork to the gable above the garage and all the trim I would paint white. I would probably also find some narrow shutters for the dormer windows, in black. Not a lot of money but could make a big impact on the look.

I actually really like the color that it is. You might get a very close shade of the same color and go over it once so that the paint looks new again. But what do I know. I’m a guy. The concept of colors completely escapes me anyway.

I also like yellow houses, but the color is a little dated.  If you want to go with an updated color palette, try a combination of a brown and greyish green.

Of course, in 10 years you will be painting it back to yellow.
