flashing windows and doors

Just Don
Posted

my contractor says he never flashes windows and doors, and he said they dont leak. I said maybe while the screws are still warm, and the sun shining brightly.

Nother site I read says flash this way or face replacing all the wood in the whole area after leaks occur.

New construction style,,,bare exterior wall at beginning with nailing fins on windows. Do you use metal, butyl tape, or both? where?
