Price on Carpet for Rehab?

I am currently rehabbing a House that we are putting in new carpet in all of the rooms except the Kitchen, Eating Room, and Laundry room. I was reffered by my contractor to a carpet guy who came over and measured the house with me and we are going to need 149 square yards of carpet. It will be a low grade beige color and I already have good padding. So my question is does $820 for low grade beige carpet for 149 yds of it sound right- that is $5.50 a yard and he said he was willing to put it in for $3 a yard so installation will be $447. For a Grand Total of $1267. If you guys could give me some feedback on what yall are paying for carpet with installation on your rehabs. I would appreciate it

Call Mitch at "The Carpet Store - Symar, CA
818-362-3534 Tell him I sent you.

I was there today and he has a new option for carpet that retails for $18-$20 sq. yd and gives it to me for $12 + pad and install. I buy a lot so your price may be a tad higher or maybe not. 3 color options and it is very lush and thick, high grade carpeting!
