How to make tall transition between wood floor and tile?

I'm looking at ideas to bridge the transition between the wood floor and kitchen tile in my latest rental. I was thinking a thick piece of quarter-round may do the trick, but wanted to see if anyone has remedied a similar issue?

1.5" is pretty substantial and will definitely be a tripping hazard. Best advice would be to get a custom hardwood ramp style transition made like below:
