Are Permits Required For Renovations on Flips

Hello, I'm in the process of starting my 1st flip. Are permits required to do all renovations or certain renovations on flips/fixer upper? Also this is the contractors responsibility correct?

This is 100% based on your location. It isn't even state to state, it is city to city, town to town. The 100% best bet is to create a plan/scope of work, meet with the building inspector and discuss exactly what you are doing, what requires permits and who can take them out. Things are handled extremely different in different areas.
