Boiler system testing cost

I purchased a property in Indy that has a boiler heating system. My contractor estimated $850 for "filling and testing" it. I am still trying to get more information from him to figure out what exactly he means with that, but in the meantime I wanted to ask you all how you would suggest a boiler should be tested and how much that should roughly cost. I'd appreciate all input.
