General contractor vs Subs?

Would it be better to have a general contractor or just coordinate the sub contractors yourself?

If you're not in the construction industry with a good amount of experience you won't find good subs and you won't know how to stage a job like a GC does so there's no overlap. You probably also won't know the codes and standards that the inspectors want to see. so how would you double check these new found subs work? Another problem would be paper work, permits contracts etc.

End of the it probably wouldn't save anything at all. Might even end up costing you more if you miss judge how much work a property needs.

Hiring your own subs is a good way find subs you never want to work with again.  A GC has gone through many subs, just like employees, to find the ones they want to keep.

If you have no experience ,hire a GC . It takes years to create relationships with good subs . If you are a newbie ,most subs wont touch you

@Geoffrey Morales also depends on your experience, the scope of work, how much time you have to dedicate to the process.

Best and fastest way to scale is using turn key with GC.
