Access to MLS?

Question

I am just curious how some you you have gained access to MLS? I realize I need to contact a local real estate agent, but not sure of what the fees are for access to MLS. I have heard fees around $60/month?

Every MLS is different - they have different rules about who can access it, and they charge different fees for access - so you do need to talk to a local agent.

I've been told that Realtor.com is a public direct link into the MLS but have also heard it doesn't update for 3-6 months even though the site says it updates every 20 minutes or so.

Would love to hear the groups thoughts on this.

Some brokers will give you admin access to the mls if you go through them for your purchases/sales. There are no fees for admin access. If you are looking for re agent access you'll pay about $120/quarter but as Bill pointed out, you'll need to be a licensed re agent.

You need to be a member of the MLS, a Realtor or appraiser, title company or in an affiliate status which generally gives only the public side. Investors around here don't qualify for membership, check in your area. It's not just the fee. Good luck
