Full Gut or Moderate Rehab

Marvin Robinson
Posted

I'm new to this real estate thing and I'm currently looking to acquire my first property in the near future, assuming life resumes back to normal at some point this year, and one of the most frightening aspect of real estate investing, at least to me, is construction!

Can someone explain to me the difference between a full gut and a moderate rehab?

We will get through this but no one knows how long or how deep the economic impact and effects on housing in the short term.

Full gut is demo down to the studs and starting from scratch.

Moderate mostly is cosmetic and can be all or any combination of fixtures, cabinets, paint, removing a wall, floors, roofing, windows, doors etc.

Light would be landscaping, paint, fixtures etc mostly cosmetic
