How much do you pay for a typical HVAC service call?

Several of my central air units need a charge of refridgerant.  It blows air, but the air is not cold.  Last year a company was charging me about $300 per unit to recharge them.  I thought it was rather high.

How much do you pay for a service call like this?

@Paul Sandhu - my guess is that the $300 covered the service call and re-charge - correct? R-22 is extremely expensive. That is where you are getting killed.
