Real Estate investing/wholesale

I'm an AF civilian here at MAFB (Montgomery, AL). I've been teleworking for a month now, due to Covid-19 & looking into other ventures in my downtime. A coworker suggested becoming a wholesaler or invest in real estate. I am highly interested, but unsure how to get started. Any advice?
