Ceiling Fans, Yes or No

Looking to replace an old out of date ceiling fan. I've heard mixed reviews on this.

The house is in CT and it's a 1950 Cape with a dormer that I live in, but plan to sell within the next year.

The room is painted with agreeable grey and white moldings. Newly refinished dark hardwood floors as well.

Main goal is to add the most value, and selling points while keeping cost down.

If selling, ok to get one with a remote.  Tougher to install but nicer.

Rentals = no remote.  Pull-chain only.
