How do I turn a microwave to nonventing?

Question

The sits over the stove kind? I know it can be done, I dont want to cut a bunch of holes in my new cabinets. The mike is existing I have no manual. Anyone know?

see - I'm not crazy! FYI if you ever run into that same problem - easy fix - turn the fan upside down. so simple.

Well to be more specific, the microwave sits over the stove and serves as the hood for the stove, so it's actually venting the range (electric), not the microwave. It vents through to the duct which is located above the microwave in the cabinet. I know I can turn the microwave into a selfcirculating with a charcoal filter, but I don't know how.

So, the stove is vented through the microwave cabinet, and you want to change it so it has some type of either direct venting or have a filter system on your microwave.  Is this for a rehab or for your personal house?  If its for a rehab, I wouldn't worry about it unless and until a buyer asks for it.  If its for your personal house, I have no idea.  I've never seen an air filtering microwave. Sorry.  :D

I dont need to vent the microwave, I need to vent the stove directly below it. The microwave sucks up the heat and smoke from the stove and sends it up through to the ducting above. Alternatively the microwave could suck up that same air, filter it, and send it back into the room - no ducting needed, which is what I'd like to accomplish.

I don't think your microwave requires much venting.  I've never even seen any code restrictions on microwave venting.  Now your stove, especially if its gas, will need to be vented.
