DIY Termite Treatment

C. S.
Posted

I know this sounds crazy, but I've been told that diesel fuel will get rid of termites. I'm sure there are environmental issues with this, but I would be terrified of a fire - even years after the treatment. If the insurance company found out that diesel fuel was used, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't pay. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Shhhhhhhhh A little secrete from an old timer.........
From a bag of water conditioner salt rock place some on top of the soil or within a trench and back fill with earth or pack salt rock granules into 1/2 inch round holes drilled 6" apart through concrete 4" away from foundation footings along area of noted termites entering structure, plug drilled holes afterwords. Be Safe Treat without poisons. Waterborne salts are commonly used to control ground termites.
