Renting on the other unit while living in the other. Being an electrician I am currently adding switches, recessed lighting and removing a lot of the old knob and tube wiring and replacing with new romex. Just wondering if anyone replacing the old wiring in their units? Is it worth it too you? I hope to either rent out both units or just the sell the place depending what the future holds.

As a safety stand point.. this is huge.. but down the line? Will something like that really increase the value? Thanks

It may impact your ability to get insurance or refi so if you have the chance replace. You can usually get insurance with K&T as an owner occupant but usually will be denied if it is an investment property. Or so has been my experience.
