What color would bring out this brick best?

Question

The upper exterior of this house needs repainted. I was thinking white, with dark red front door and shutters. Someone mentioned today that a different color might bring out the color of the brick better.

What color should this house be???

I usually dislike brick, but I like the colors in the brick on that house.  I would play off of whatever shades of taupe/tan/gray you've got in there there and pick one.  Don't be afraid to go as dark as mid-tone.  Your brick makes it so the house won't look too small with a darker color.
	 
	 I really like white trim, especially against grays.  I can't tell from the pictures what's going on with the windows.  Are they white vinyl inserts with little to no trim? I like adding exterior wood trim, but the front windows don't appear to have enough room on the bottom for additional trim.   Shutters are a cheap solution, since you usually just do them on the front windows. Do a google image search on exterior white shutters and see if you like any of the color combos.
	 
	 I'm tired of red doors.  I like navy and burgandy accents against neutrals.

I would opt for Sea foam green ... it's a little more stoic than the mint, but still lively.

Maybe a medium taupe (tan w/gray in it) for the body of the house, and a gray door.Though, in enlarging the picture I can't see the colors clearly enough. Looks like tans and grays. I'd go mid tones. You can go to the paint store and look at the combinations on the color cards, just remember that the brick color is a given, so it needs to be one of the colors!

@michaella  The designer in our RE company struggles over the same question and she'll reduce the colors down to just 2.  Your last design of house, shutters and door and brick makes for 4 colors.  Black shutters often don't add to the busy look.  Burnt red door, black shutters white house...

I guess, I lived in Miami and did victorian bungalows in Atlanta. So, I'm used to those colors . Some parts of the country are traditionally white or off white
