Real Estate Attorney Recommendations?

Hi everyone!
My wife and I are born and raised in Portland Oregon and just started our REI journey. This past August we acquired our first rental property and inherited long term tenants along with an existing lease. With the existing lease set to expire soon, we're now looking to introduce a new lease that is more inline with how we want to manage the property. That being said, we are on the hunt for legal advise and hope to add an attorney to our team. There's a lot of "we don't know what we don't know" so we want to "know what we don't know" 😁
Any recommendations for real estate attorney’s would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Billy Cha

Good post, and I don't see it get talked about enough here on BP- another gloss over issue.
Get one, especially regarding whats expected of you as a landlord with local and state laws and to draw up a lease. Just because you get a tenant to sign something doesn't make in enforceable in court if previous laws contradict it.
Heard legal horror stories from multiple landlords, and am currently a plaintiff in a civil lawsuit- which is all I can say about that matter until it is resolved.
Edit- just realized you are looking for recommendations of attorneys by name. Disregard

Thanks, David! Yes, I’m currently looking for one but appreciate the advice nonetheless. I’ve also read the horror stories and want to get ahead of it.
Thanks!

Hi @Billy Cha . I would recommend Shawn Morgan here in Portland. Thankfully I haven't had to use him but he has counseled me a few times. He also invests and is co-owner of a property management company. However, I've talked to a different attorney about this and they suggested I purchase a lease from Multifamily NW. They are a local advocacy group and they have real estate lawyers update the lease each year.

Hi @Brad
Thank you for the recommendation! I've reached out to Shawn Morgan and hope to hear back soon. Also, greatly appreciate the lead on Multifamily NW. My wife and I are no lawyers and it's been daunting determining which lease to use as a foundation. I'm looking though their site now.
