No info without Proof of Funds

So, I have an ad stating that I'm looking for Mobile Home Notes to purchase.

I get an email from somebody (no name on the email!) telling me that they have notes, but won't release any info on their notes without POF.

I respond that I'm not sending POF to obtain a description of a note they're trying to sell, but would be glad to send POF at the time of an offer.

To me, this guy sounds like an idiot. What do you think? Have you ever heard of this?

I agree, it seems to me people are in a take position mostly. They want to take all the information and give little. Maybe you could compromise. Approach them and ask for just a little information and then you can provide the POF. Or see if you can get a company name or something. They may just be a person trying to flip a note.
