Pay Off Loan Sooner?

I bought an out of state property and have about $50,000 left to pay off for the loan. Anyone know if paying 1 huge principle payment at the end of each year would pay it off faster verses bi weekly payments?

Are you paying it off because you don’t like having debt, or because the interest you’re paying is higher than the return on the money you can receive by investing it (on a risk adjusted basis?).  Or because you’re trying to decrease risk?  In other words are the reasons for paying off debt early financial or emotional?
