first bid won potential disaster
Ok. I won my first bid for a property in Tennessee a year ago- purchase price 10k. The one year redemption period has passed and I now have the deed in my name. I was contacted by the neighbor next door who is interested in purchasing it for 12,500. He mentioned septic issues. I researched and it turns out the septic tank was placed on a separate parcel owned by a third party. This morning I got a call from the same neighbor informing me that the previous owner (who had been in orison for selling meth) was released today and dropped off at his last known address. He is now in the home. I live out of state and will not physically be there for three months. I have informed the local police department and they will swing by there today, but have told me that this is now a civil matter. Today is Sunday so I can't get in touch with the courthouse to file for eviction- any suggestions? Should I file myself or do I need a lawyer? Next steps?

You can look to this forum for moral support, but until you (1) verify exactly what the situation is (and isn’t) and (2) speak with an attorney specializing in real estate law in the jurisdiction the property is located in, you’ll be running numerous scenarios through your mind which may in no way apply to your specific problem.
