Probate issues
I'm fairly new to probate investing and was seeking a little help. I have an older army veteran who lost his wife of over 30 years to cancer earlier this year and is now looking to sell what once was their home. He can barely get around due to his condition, I felt kinda sad for him he can't read or write.They have 6 kids together, 9 in total, 3 of which are from his late wife's previous marriage. Both of them are on the deed for the house, He went down to the probate court to file a petition to gain power of attorney over the property they told him that they will have to run it in the local papers for a couple weeks it's now been 2 months and they can't give him any updates on the probate. To make matters worse the oldest sibling which is his late wife's son refuses to sign any paperwork to sell the house. Is anything I can do in this situation? Any experienced advise would be helpful thank you.
