Selling house notes help

A friend of mines suggested I start out small and sell house notes. I have a broad idea on them but can someone give me the specifics on them, where to get them, what I need to know about them, and how to start selling them? Before I start the process of thinking about trying to plan it I would like to know what it is about.

This is not a viable strategy for someone new, and it is a very small pool of inventory with a lot of professionals involved.  Focus on something else.
