New to learning Notes

I have a few questions to start that are basic but like I said I'm new to notes. 

1) Is notes a good investment to start in or would you note vets recommend starting in another strategy ?

2)  When starting out what is a good amount of money to have in hand to invest?

3) Where are the places notes are sold?
